The current Amazon Web Service chief executive Andy Jassy will take over his position. Bezos said he quit to give him more time to focus on the “Day 1 Fund, Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post and other passions.”
Andy Jassy will become the CEO of Amazon in the third quarter this year. Jassy started at Amazon in 1997 as a marketing manager and stood at the head of AWS since 2003.
In the past quarter Amazon reached a record profit of 125.6 billion dollar, which was 33 percent more than last year. The yearly profit of Amazon in 2020 was 386.1 billion dollar.
